They have just returned from the immunization outreach post at the market. The health card contains the record of the child’s vaccination against measles during the UNICEF-supported immunization campaign.
From 18 to 21 June 2012 in Burundi, an integrated measles vaccination campaign was held as part of nationwide Maternal and Child Health Week activities. The campaign aims to vaccinate more than 1.4 million children aged 6 months to 5 years old against the easily preventable but highly contagious disease, which can cause severe complications and death.
